It's hard sometimes!

Being a girl is hard. Really hard. And I, as a female myself, want to share about the struggles about being a girl. So here goes...

1-Makeup Yes, I do enjoy putting makeup on because I look a lot older with it on, and for many girls, it helps improve their confidence. But, it just takes too much time, and sometimes I would much rather stay in bed than put on my makeup. And another thing, if you wear makeup, you get judged for it, and if you don't wear makeup, you get judged for it. No matter whether you choose to wear makeup or not, you get judged, which brings me to point two.

2- Pretty much all girls get judged about anything and everything! If you are skinny, you get told to put on weight, but if you're overweight, you get called 'Fat'. If you have sex you're a slut, if you don't, you're considered to be frigid. We get judged on everything nowadays, and many girls feel like they are walking on eggshells. We literally have to monitor everything we do so we don't get judged for it. But people today are quickly to judge about everything, so it's super hard.

3- You're expected to look perfect all the time. Many days I would love to go to school with my hair tied back and have no makeup on, but I can't. the expectation to look like a glamour model nowadays is ridiculous, and it annoys me. It should be your choice the way you want to look, and no one should change that about you.

4- You're hormones are to pot. One minute you're happy and the next minute, you're crying for no reason. Little things can instantly put you in a bad mood. I mean, I started crying one day because I couldn't find my favourite pair of pyjamas. And the sad thing is, you can't control your feelings, you just have to go with it. Which means, most of the time you lock yourself away in your room and eat lots of junk food. And don't let me get started on spots caused by hormones. They can ruin your life, quite literally.

5- Relationships. You're expected to always like someone of the opposite sex. Which isn't always the case.

6- The stress. We have to constantly try do our best. The constant proplems of school, work, friends, relationships, and being a girl in general is very stressful. And we get told to stop moaning but everything that gets thrown on us piles up, and it's not good.

So, it may seem to other people that we 'have it easy' and that we worry about nothing. But, it's hard and stressful. We don't have it easy. We have so many things to deal with, and more. So if you choose to judge and say that we need to 'man up' or 'quit moaning' just think how much we actually have to deal with.

I'm Donating My Hair!

A few weeks ago, I made the big decision to donate my hair to charity. That may sound weird but what I mean is I am donating my ponytail to The Little Princess Trust.

The Little Princess Trust is a charity that specialises in making wigs free of charge for children suffering hair loss due to Cancer or alopecia. This is a very special charity which offers children with no hair the chance to have a specially made wig, free of charge. These wigs can cost up to £1000 to buy and £350 to make, and this charity enables children to get these wigs for free.

So that is why I have decided to donate my hair. Also, I have dealt with going through the ordeal of losing my hair myself. When I was three, I was diagnosed with cancer and lost all my hair during chemotherapy. Being so young, having no hair did not seem to bother me, but children who are slightly older tend to not be able to deal with it as well.

As you can see in the picture above, my hair is quite long. It goes to around about my waist. I am deciding to donate my hair on the 28th February. I am quite nervous as I have spent sooo long trying to grow my hair but I know that what I am doing is for a good cause. I am donating around 30-35 centimetres(14 inches!), so after I get it cut my hair will go to my shoulders.

As well as donating my hair, I am aiming to raise money for the charity too because they also rely on donations to be able to manufacture the wigs. My original aim was to raise £350 as that was the cost to make one of the wigs, but amazingly, I raised that within the first week! I can't believe how generous people have been.

So I have now decided I want to try and raise even more for the charity. £500 to be exact. I am around £100 off this target and still have plenty of time before the event to try and raise this. This may sounds cheeky, and I hate asking people to do things for me, but, if you would like to, it would be amazing for you to donate. Even as little as £1 can help.

Below I have attached the link to my Just Giving page, and it would be amazing for you donate! I am so excited for this to happen. After the event, I will post another blog about the events of the day

My Favourite Things

So I thought that I would share some of my favourite things. 9 to be exact. I apologise for the terrible quality of all of the photos because my iPhone camera is terrible.

Friends

Friends are a big part of my life(cheesy or what). I love the quote 'you can only count the people you trust on one hand' and this is entirely true. The friends that are closest to me mean so much to me.

Rachel(top) and Danielle are my closest friends. They are my go to people when I need help with anything, whether it be that I'm feeling down or something more casual like homework. They are so different in so many ways but both have their own ways of making me happy. That was major cheesy.

Family

'Ohana means family'
Family is something I wouldn't ever be able to live without. You always know they will be there for you no matter what.
Dogs

I sound like a crazy dog lady but I love dogs. I have three. A 12 year old Cocker Spaniel called Diesel, 1 year old Lhasa Apso called Dexter and a 10 week old Shih Tzu called Millie (there is a blog about Millie). They're all so cute and cuddly and always there for a good cuddle.

Music

Music is one of my favourite things without a doubt. My music taste is really varied. My favourite artists/bands are We The Kings, The Script, Mayday Parade and I love a bit of Bruno Mars too. I also like to play music, although I am not really good. I play (attempting) guitar, ukulele and a bit of piano.

Sleep

Favourite place to go.

Candles

I love burning candles in my room because they are really pretty. I got this owl burner for Christmas (Owls are one of my favourite things too). My favourite scents to burn have to be vanilla, lavender and spiced orange.

Makeup

It is a very clique favourite thing for a girl, but I do love it. I love spending time putting on my makeup every day. Without it I look about ten. My favourite piece of makeup though has to be lipstick. I love berry and fuchsia shades. I particularly like 'Girl about Town' by MAC. It is a really nice fuchsia colour and it is very long lasting.

Tea

Tea is way better than coffee, and I love getting all cosy in my bed with a cup of hot tea and some biscuits. (Oh look another owl)

Youtube

That may seem like an odd one, but I love watching youtubers, especially vlogs. My favourite people to watch on YouTube are SacconeJolys, Shaytards, Thatcher Joe (Joe Sugg) and Connor Franta. But my all time favourite is the CTFXC (Charles Trippy).

The Following and Catfish

The Following is an American TV Series with Kevin Bacon and it is so good. Very interesting but quite gory. I love Catfish mainly because of Nev and Max. If you haven't watched either I strongly suggest you do because you are seriously missing out.

Meet Millie!

So on Friday we got a new addition to the family... Meet Millie!

This was a big surprise, considering we already have two dogs, and I don't know what was going through my mums head when she decided to get a THIRD one. But, I still love her nonetheless.

She is a ten week old Shih Tzu and I picked her name ( I did with our Lhasa Apso Dexter too). I can't wait to see her grow and get a wee character because right now all she likes to do is eat and sleep.

Let's start at the beginning...

Many blogs nowadays are boring and useless. And to be honest, this one probably will be too. But I don't care.

What better way to kick of my blogs with my goals for 2015. As exciting as they are...

Learn Guitar

I decided to be daring and I bought a guitar just after Christmas as I feel I need to become more musical. I sing and used to play piano but I decided I need to expand. So learning guitar is something I am going to 'try' and do.

Write a blog

It seems like this has worked, and I want to write about anything on my mind. Most of it will be rather pointless and non exciting to everybody who sets their eyes upon it but I don't care.

Do some charity

I don't think that is the proper way to say it but I want to do more for charity. Such as run the race for life, raise money for Macmillan, and most importantly, donate my hair to the Little Princess Trust(I will more than likely write a blog at a later date on that).

It might not seem much but I don't want to blab on and on and on...

Much love x
