Bleugh

Recently, I have been feeling quite down. I've been ill a lot too, and times like these I just feel horrible with myself and want to cry. I'm not depressed (but have so much respect for people who go through depression and other mental illnesses on a daily basis) but I have just been feeling bleugh inside and all I have wanted to do is hide under my covers away from everyone and everything.

I don't feel like this usually, only really when I am ill or have had a shitty week or been in a tough situation. I thought I would write this blog to share some of my favourite things I have found to do that cheer me up a bit, whether I am ill, upset or feeling down inside.

Have a cup of tea- I am a sucker for a cup of tea at the best of times, but when I am ill or feeling rubbish a nice big mug of tea helps cheer me up and also warms me up. I love being able to wrap my hands around the warm mug and get some heat in me.

Paint my nails- Bit of a strange one, but I always find painting my nails helps cheer me up a lot. I feel naked when I go out without painted nails haha and painting my nails instantly cheers me up being able to add a pop of colour to my outfit. Also it adds a touch of 'glam' and fashion, even if I am just sitting around in my pyjamas all day.

Watch Disney Movies- Disney films are my go to type of  movies. Whenever I feel like rubbish I put on a Disney film and find myself singing along and feeling happy. My favourites have to be Tangled, Frozen and the Lion King. I could literally spend a whole day watching Disney films (my best friend Danielle would agree, and she would easily join me)

Have a long hot shower- Sadly I don't have a bath in my house, but I really enjoy having a nice long shower to help feel better in myself. I always feel rejuvenated afterwards and loveee putting on clean pyjamas and getting all cosy.

Colour in- Again a strange one, but colouring in helps me relax and unwind. I could spend hours upon hours colouring in just one picture. I own Millie Marotta's Animal Kingdom (£5 on Amazon) and love nothing more than spending my time colouring on all the pretty pictures.
One of the many pretty pictures
in Millie Marotta's book

Sleep- They say sleep is the best medicine, and I totally agree with this statement. I love getting cosy in my bed and sleeping off anything for a few hours. I'd say catching z's is definitely becoming one of my hobbies.

See you all soon!

Cold days are coming

Summer is well and truly over in Scotland. Long gone are the warm(ish) days and these instead have been replaced by cooler days and darker nights. Autumn and winter are fast approaching, and to say I am excited is definitely an understatement.

Although I love summer and everything that goes along with it, I much prefer autumn and winter. There are so many things to do and loads of holidays to celebrate. I love the longer nights, the comfy jumpers, the hot chocolate and the heat from the fire during this time. I feel like I get closer to my friends at this time period too, because we tend to stay in more and not feel obliged to go out places and instead enjoy each others company.

I was very recently chatting to my good friend Danielle ( tartanvibez.blogspot.co.uk check her out) were sharing our excitement for the autumn and festive seasons. We came up with so many fun ideas we want to do and what better place to write them down is on my blog. Now, I wrote a summer 'bucket list' way back in May, and didn't exactly stick to it. But with Summer, the weather was so bad that we couldn't do much of the activities we originally wanted to do. However, with this time of year I feel that weather is not a limitation, because loads of activities are indoors and the cold weather is expected at this time. So, fingers crossed, everything on this list will be completed by New Year and will be an amazing end to an amazing year!

1. Halloween Party

2. Go to Guy Falkes Night

3. Carve pumpkins

4. Go to winter wonderland

5.Go ice skating

6. Have some amazing hot chocolate

7. Cosy movie night (Christmas films or Disney or both)

8. Toast marshmallows

9. Make Smores

10. Snow ball fight (if we get snow that is)

11. Christmas parties/night outs

12. Christmas shopping

13. Slumber party at Christmas time

14. New Years Party

Just writing this list is getting me super excited for the months to come! I want to make it memorable and fun, and spend as much time with my friends as I can because before we know it we'll all be going our separate ways to college or university.

I am really looking forward to seeing what this halloween/festive season brings and will definitely blog a lot of it.
